Shed Requirments

 
 
2009 BREEDING SHED REQUIRMENTS
 
1. Pine River Thoroughbreds requires that a Mare Form must be completed and on file in our office before a mare will be booked.

2. WE DO NOT USE SHED FORMS.

3. Maiden and barren mares must have a negative uterine culture within 60 days of their first cover. ALL MAIDEN MARES MUST BE JUMPED BEFORE COMING TO THE BREEDING SHED.

4. ALL RETURN COVERS require a negative uterine culture taken within the previous 30 days or since the last cover and for each cover thereafter.

5. All mares must be accompanied with a Herpes Vaccination vet statement (can be included on the culture). EHV-1 vaccination must be more than 7 days and less than 90 days from the time mares are presented at the shed. Pine River Thoroughbreds will not breed mares directly from the racetrack. M
ares must be a resident on a boarding farm for 14 days or more with no clinical signs of EHV-1.

6. No other horses (foals, other mares, etc.) shall be permitted to unload from the van and “layover” in Pine River Thoroughbreds stalls unless boarding has been pre-arranged.


7. Results from all tests  including CEM as well as EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis), must accompany the mare to the shed.
